There’s nothing like a good yoga session to bring you back down to earth. On the other hand, a good morning spent in the outdoors can be quite rewarding as well. By combining these two things, you can create the ultimate morning spent connecting with nature.
There is something magical about stretching your muscles and finding your happy place while watching the sunrise. If you have never given it a try, your next camping trip might be just the time to do so.
That said, many people are hesitant to try yoga because they are unsure of what to do, or they don’t want to be embarrassed. However, there are ways around these problems. Here are a few tips to help you feel comfortable during your first yoga session in nature.
Watch Some Videos
Before you head out, find some instructional yoga videos. These can be found online or at the library. Watch the videos and practice a bit in the privacy of your own home. Remember to use your yoga time as an opportunity to relax and reconnect with yourself.
Rise Before the Sun
When your yoga day arrives, set your alarm to go off before sunrise. This serves two purposes:
- Because most people will still be sleeping, it gives you some privacy.
- It also gives you the opportunity to watch the sunrise, something that is very enjoyable and energizing.
If, after following the last two steps, you are still uncomfortable practicing yoga in front of others, consider seeking out some privacy. This may be a small clearing in the woods, or it could just be the backside of your tent.
Focus on You
While you are in your yoga session, focus solely on you. Wear headphones and listen to relaxing music. Pay attention to your breathing and position, and block out any distractions if possible. You’ll be amazed at how refreshed and energized you feel when your session is finished.
We hope these suggestions really help you take full advantage of your camping trips and connect with nature in ways you never have before. Have a tip of your own? We’d love to hear it! Please comment below.
